Valerie Bourke, MA, AMFT, APCC
Valerie Bourke is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) at Advanced Health Care. She received her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from National University in 2022.
Valerie’s clinical experience includes treating a range of clients in both hospice and residential treatment settings. Her knowledge in trauma-informed therapy and addiction treatment has equipped her to guide clients through major life transitions and complex emotional struggles. Valerie has conducted both group and individual therapy for adults and adolescents, focusing on helping clients to process grief, build healthy relationships, and cope with challenging life situations. Her integrative approach to therapy draws from humanistic and psychodynamic philosophies, as well as cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness techniques, enabling her to tailor her interventions to the specific needs of each client. Through a respectful and compassionate approach, Valerie cultivates strong therapeutic relationships with her clients. She provides them with a safe space to process emotions, explore motivations and behaviors, and gain insights into their experiences. She prioritizes creating a non-judgmental environment with her clients that fosters trust and understanding. Valerie firmly believes in the inherent potential of every individual and is honored to be a part of her clients’ journeys toward greater self-awareness and healing. Currently, Valerie works under the direct supervision of Dr. Sarah Ray, Clinical Psychologist, and Dr. Bindhu Davis, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist as she gains hours toward licensure. When not working with clients, Valerie enjoys exploring and learning through travel, camping, cooking, and hiking with her dog, Gallifrey. |
