Iscah Yau, MA, LMFT
Iscah Yau is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Advanced Health Care. She graduated from University of California San Diego (UCSD) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. She furthered her studies at Bethel Seminary San Diego where she received a Master of Arts degree in Marital and Family Therapy.
Iscah has experience providing therapeutic services in a wide range of clinical settings. She began her clinical training at San Diego Rescue Mission and Alvarado Parkway Institute. She provided individual therapy, family therapy, and group therapy in residential and psychiatric inpatient settings to individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and dual diagnosis. Upon graduation, Iscah worked as a program therapist at Union of Pan Asian Communities’ Children and Adolescent Mental Health Program (UPAC CMH). She provided school and community based psychotherapy services to children, adolescents, and transitional age youth with a wide range of mood disorders and behavioral problems. At UPAC, she also provided diagnostic screening, biopsychosocial assessment, crisis intervention, as well as case management services. Iscah joined the Advanced Health Care team in 2022. She deeply values the importance of creating a compassionate safe space as she walks with her clients so they can experience healing and transformative change in their lives. In her clinical work, she utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT). To better support clients, Iscah has completed the following trainings over the past few years: Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy Level 1, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Prepare/Enrich. Iscah specializes in anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, self-esteem/identity development, stress management, interpersonal issues, and Asian American experiences. |
