Madalyn Osterkamp, MA, AMFT
Madalyn Osterkamp is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist at Advanced Health Care. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Counseling and Social Change from San Diego State University. She then went on to earn her Master of Arts degree in Clinical Counseling at Point Loma Nazarene University.
Madalyn has experience working in hospital, residential, and outpatient settings, providing therapy to individuals, couples, and families. She began her clinical work at Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital in the Eating Disorders program, supporting clients with eating disorders and co-occurring conditions. She later worked at Sharp's Maternal Mental Health program, helping women navigate the challenges of perinatal and postpartum transitions. Madalyn enjoys working with both individuals and couples and specializes in treating anxiety, grief, life transitions, attachment wounds, and relational challenges. Madalyn has completed Level 1 and Level 2 training in the Gottman Method for couples therapy, a structured and research-based approach that uses in-depth assessments and practical tools to help couples improve communication, manage conflict, and build stronger emotional connections. In addition to her work with couples, Madalyn has years of experience working with children and helping young clients build emotional awareness, strengthen family relationships, and navigate challenges such as anxiety, attachment wounds, and behavioral concerns. Madalyn is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). She integrates Attachment Theory and neuroscience-informed interventions to help clients develop insight into their patterns, deepen emotional awareness, and create meaningful change in their lives and relationships. Outside of session, Madalyn can be found spending time with her dog, Muffin, as they work toward becoming a certified therapy dog team to offer support and connection in the community. At this time, Madalyn Osterkamp, AMFT works under the direct supervision of Dr. Sarah Ray, Clinical Psychologist, and Dr. Bindhu Davis, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist as she gains hours toward licensure. |
