Cristina Tran, MA, BCBA
Cristina Tran is a Behavior Analyst at Advanced Health Care. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at San Diego State University. In 2014, she completed her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy at National University, San Diego. She obtained her Board-Certified Behavior Analyst Certification in 2019.
Cristina has experience providing individual and family therapy, including with children and adolescents who are or have been at-risk, abused, or in foster care. She began her clinical work at San Diego Youth Services, a private adolescent group home and at non-profit organizations where she supported people and families who suffered with depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, autism spectrum disorders, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and other emotional, developmental, and learning disabilities. Cristina began her career in Applied Behavior Analysis in 2005 where she supported children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities and their families. She has been trained in various teaching strategies which includes Discrete Trial Training (DTT), Naturalistic Environment Teaching (NET), and Pivotal Response Training (PRT). Cristina also conducted assessments (i.e., Vineland 3, Verbal Behavior Milestone Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP), and Assessment of Functional Living Skills (AFLS)) to identify treatment intensity and skill deficits to design treatment plan that are tailored to the client’s needs. Cristina also conducted parent training sessions where she utilized psychoeducation to teach caregivers evidence-based strategies to improve parent-child relationships. She also coordinated care across all professional by conducting observations to optimize learning and progress. Cristina continues to support individuals and families by providing behavior consultation services to improve self-sufficiency. She provides support in the following areas, but not limited to following instructions, increasing attending and engagement, toilet training, eye contact, goal setting, achieving goals, building food repertoires, desensitization to environmental factors, socialization skills, communication, increasing parenting strategies, and completing daily living skills. Cristina values providing a safe place for her clients to uncover and highlight their potentials so that they can live a fulfilling life. |
