Katie Cohn, AMFT
Katie Cohn is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist at Advanced Health Care. She completed her undergraduate degree in Social Work at Seattle University and was awarded her Master’s Degree in Marital and Family Therapy from the University of San Diego. She has experience providing individual, family, and group therapy with children, adults, and parents in an outpatient setting.
Katie began her clinical work at Rady’s Children’s Outpatient Psychiatry. While there, she conducted individual and family psychotherapy with children, adolescents, and families who suffered from depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, family conflict, and childhood disorders such as ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Katie then joined the Sharp Mesa Vista PTSD Trauma and Recovery team. While there, Katie worked with survivors of trauma to address self compassion, grief, sleep disturbance, avoidance, somatic symptoms, isolation, distress tolerance, and loss of sense of self. Katie is passionate about working with clients of all ages manage depression, anxiety, emotion dysregulation, childhood disorders, trauma, self-esteem, suicidal ideation, life transitions, and stress management. She utilizes an eclectic approach to therapy, drawing from cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma focused techniques, solution focused therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions. At Advanced Healthcare she works collaboratively with each client to create a tailored treatment plan that meets their own unique needs and goals. Her work is person-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed. At this time, Katie Cohn, AMFT works under the direct supervision of Dr. Sarah Ray, Clinical Psychologist, and Dr. Bindhu Davis, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist as she gains hours toward licensure. |
