|
Henna Uusitalo is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist at Advanced Health Care. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California, Santa Cruz, where she earned dual Bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Education. Henna went on to receive her Master’s in Clinical Counseling from Point Loma Nazarene University.
Henna approaches counseling with a warm and client-centered mindset. She began her clinical journey working with undergraduate students navigating the transition to adulthood, an experience that further supported her long-standing interest in helping individuals move through life changes with clarity and resilience. Henna has experience working with anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief, and has supported clients across individual, group, and couples settings. Henna believes in empowering clients through the strength of a trusting therapeutic relationship. Her approach is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and a genuine commitment to understanding each client’s unique experience. She has worked from Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavioral, and Solution-Focused frameworks, and has completed Gottman's Level One Couples therapy training. In her spare time, Henna enjoys running, practicing Pilates, and spending time reading. With roots in Finland, her Finnish heritage remains an important and meaningful part of her identity, though she doesn’t mind trading the long winters for San Diego’s sunny weather. At this time, Henna Uusitalo, AMFT works under the direct supervision of Dr. Sarah Ray, Clinical Psychologist, and Dr. Bindhu Davis, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, as she gains hours toward licensure. |
